Theme Biodiversity and Fire
To celebrate National Science Week 2010 from 14th to 22nd August, the Science Department is hosting the 1st annual art competition, offering categories for children and adults.

The categories in the Competition have been designed to give as many people as possible the opportunity to submit entries. The categories are:
- Open Art 1st Prize: $TBA
- Senior Art (Yr 8 to 12) $TBA
- Junior Art (K to 7) $TBA
- Open Photography $TBA
- Senior Photography $TBA
- Junior Photography $TBA
- Open Video $TBA
- Senior Video $TBA
- Junior Video $TBA
All artworks and photographs be supplied in digital format .jpg format. to art@kimberley.id.au
Why Theme Fire and Biodiversity
The Kimberley is one of the most biodiverse environments on the planet and this being the United National International Year of Biodiversity becoming more appreciative and aware of what we have is important. Fire in the Kimberley is the most significant factor that effects the flora and fauna our Biodiversity.
All artwork all will be posted on the web site, www.kimberley.id.au/blog maximum size of 800 x 800 for display on the web site (640×480 preferred) and up to 4000×4000 for reproduction, we will print out the entries in colour up to A3 in size for display around the school and Derby. If you cannot supply electronic entries please post or deliver them to Derby DHS, all care will be taken with works submitted but no responsibility for loss or damage.
Video’s to be submitted as a Youtube link less than 10 Minutes long and SD or HD if possible.
By entering you give permission to Derby DHS to publish the images on the internet. The Artworks may also be used by Derby DHS to develop products for fund raising purposes, eg a calendar. Reproductions will always recognise the artist by name.
The artwork will be displayed on our open day and evening Tuesday 17th and as work will be being produced during the week we may continue to accept entries until Friday.
